about
ALBUM OUT NOW!
Conceptually this album is related to Naked & Blue (2005 MHK). It almost never saw the light of day.
Between 2000 - 2005 I toyed with three overly ambitious solo music projects; the songs on this album Dance With Me come from the first one of these withdrawn projects called Blue Magma. This album has been fraught with problems; Blue Magma was a self indulgent double album of 30 songs relating a love affair story through songs; unsurprisingly this naively over ambitious release never happened. Later, it was split into two batches one called Naked & Blue (2005 MHK) and the 2nd Blue Tena which was to come out later the same year, but there were some complications & it didn't. It was rescheduled for 2008 and that failed too; I began to think it was cursed and not worth the bother! In fact by then I had changed so much musically and ideologically and was struggling to regain rights to and recucsitate another big project called Nights of Madhead [unreleased] that I didn't care for Blue Tena anymore. I worked on other collaborative projects such as Jazzmoss (2007 GFMA & Discovery Records) instead.
Nonetheless, at the end of 2010 I revisited this music & found it had a naive charm and friends convinced me it was worth some trouble. It had 15 songs which were originally written and recorded mostly in 2001-2003; I chose 8 songs that still sounded decent. I re-recorded 4 & to these I added 6 fresher songs to make a new work titled Dance With Me. To my horror when the album was complete and mixed, I had all my files stolen and the album was gone! The only sensible path was to forget this album and start something new.
However, three months after the robbery I came across some earlier pre-mixes of the songs. Its these that I mastered, which allowed me to release this particular version of the album; I added one extra song "the good the bad and the beautiful" and voila, Dance With me was served. It doesn't realise my full vision of the material but I am still fond of these songs and I hope you can get some joy out of them as much as I did when I was making them back in 2001 and again in 2011. I am so glad & actually surprised its finally out!

Note: Naked & Blue is being re-mastered to be reissued with this release.
